HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH MINISTRY

Several times throughout the month the High School Youth plan an evening for food, fellowship, or just fun! We schedule road trips, outreach projects, lock-ins and dances. Visit the Youth Table, the bulletin, watch for flyers, or email Caryl at caryld@st-stephen.com!

Youth Ministries

Stewardship is a way that we return to God a portion of the gifts He has given us. These gifts include our time, talents, and treasure. St. Stephen offers our young people many opportunities to participate in Stewardship. If you would like to get involved with any of the youth ministries listed below, contact Caryl, your high school youth minister, at the office.

WORSHIP SUPPORT

Art and Environment

High school youth are invited to help with the Decorations for all the liturgical seasons, feast days and special functions.

Nursery Aide

Help is needed during the 5:00 pm, 9:00 am, and 11:00 am Mass as well as other Church gatherings!

Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Ministry recognizes the power of prayer and praise to God. You will receive a list of petitions from your "prayer captain", and you are encouraged to pray, in your own way, for these petitions.

WORSHIP

Spirit Choir

Join the energetic group who sing at the 5:00 pm Mass and other celebrations! Rehearsals for singers are on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, and for instrumentalists, Tuesdays from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

Lector

Young people who enjoy public speaking are invited to proclaim the Word of God during all Masses.

Instrumentalist

Any young person who plays a musical instrument is invited to share their talents with the community! Instrumentalists rehearse on Tuesday evening, 7:30pm to 9:00pm, to peform with the Spirit Choir at Saturday 5:00 pm Mass, or on Wednesdays from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm to perform with the 9:00 am or 11:00 am Mass choirs

Liturgical Dance

Help celebrate the word of God with dance! Rehearsals and performance dates vary with the season!

L.I.T.E.S.

Life in the Eucharist Seminars - teens work with Fr. George, S.S.S. to learn more about the Eucharist. Topics include Eucharist as Reconciliation, Nourishment, Transformation, Abiding Presence, and Liberation. Meetings are held on Sundays from 12:15 to 1:30 pm. Check the bulletin for details! OUTREACH

Peer Minister

Teens are needed to work with our Middle School youth group twice a month! Planning meetings are held as needed.

Retreat Team

Confirmed teens are needed to plan and implement the retreat weekends for this year's Confirmation class, and to support and interact with them throughout the year! Meetings are held every other Thursday from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm in the Youth Room.

Acts of Faith

Middle School, High School, and young adult actors, singers, dancers, technicians, and instrumentalists are needed to prepare a musical production every summer! Planning meetings begin in January on a yearly basis. Photos of 2007 Godspell

Teachers

Confirmed young people are needed to teach or co-teach Confirmation P.R.E.P. classes or to be helping hands.
